Cris Plata was born in South Texas, the son of migrant workers. Cris spoke Spanish and heard Mexican music played by his family and friends. He learned to play the guitar, accordian, and mandolin when he was five. Today he writes his own music, performs songs in English and Spanish. Cris' band, Cris Plata and Extra Hot perform across Wisconsin. He will share some of his experiences with hardships from poor working conditions, low wages, and racial discrimination and how his music interests helped him through some trying times. Cris was featured on Wisconsin Public Radio and Wisconsin Public Television. Cris will also perform some of his songs. Join us for an interesting and entertaining evening. Register on the kiosk or at the Church Office.
