The process of confirmation takes many forms and varies from congregation to congregation, but the end goal is the same: to prepare people to boldly and confidently make those promises, affirm their baptisms and continue to live out their faith in the church. We do this by offering specific theological education, opportunities for meaningful conversation, and a space of intentional community. Through our program, youth will be introduced to the New Testament, the Old Testament/ Hebrew Bible, Church History and Documents, and Christian Living. Through these courses, alongside intentional time spent in small groups and with mentors, youth will learn about the context of faith from which they come and will have the theological knowledge and background to make an informed decision when affirming their Baptism.

CONFIRMATION 2023-2024

CONFIRMATION (6TH – 8TH GRADE)

St. Luke’s Confirmation program is open to all 6th-8th Grade youth and will operate on a three-year rotation for curriculum. Confirmation courses will be held during a series of four retreats throughout the year, with additional sessions meeting one Wednesday evening every month. Through this program, youth will have the opportunity to grow in their faith and establish a strong theological foundation through meaningful conversations, reading and reflecting as a community, and engaging in experiences that are new and challenging. With an intentional focus on community building, youth will gain firsthand insight into what it means to be an active member of the living body of Christ.
