Day 2 - Share Your Story | 10 for 10 | Daily Inspiration - October 3

"I'm a little pencil in the hands of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world." ~Mother Theresa

God has given us all a story to tell. Some chapters may be complicated and raw. Some chapters may be hopeful and inspiring. Many may fall in the spaces in between. Sharing our story with someone(s) who has earned the privilege of hearing it can provide the illumination that will help banish the shadows that thrive in the corners and add luster to the parts that are already sparkly.

Sociologist and author, Brene Brown, says it like this, "We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and then honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection."

Depending on where I am in my own story, I can find myself ranking my joy or struggle in comparison to what I'm hearing from others. Is my own "worthy" of the feelings I'm experiencing when someone else has it so much worse (or better)?

While there is great value in perspective and no doubt that some chapters are more difficult than others, the feelings they represent are all part of our own story, and each one is unique and special to God. They are part of His love letter that are worthy of recognizing, naming, sharing, and witnessing for each other.

"I'm not interested in competing with anyone. I hope we all make it." ~Erica Cook
