DAY 1 SNAPSHOT:
Mountain Motto: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Phil. 4:13
Lift Lesson: I can share gifts!
Bible Story: Joseph interprets dreams - Genesis 40:1-41 :45
Today, we learned through the ups and downs of Joseph’s story how we can share our gifts with others. Though Joseph experiences hardship at the hands of his own brothers including being sold into slavery and put in prison, Joseph finds a way to bravely share his gift of dream interpretation with Pharaoh. Joseph understood that the gift that he’d been given came from God. When asked
for a dream interpretation, Joseph told Pharaoh, “It’s not me. God will give Pharaoh a favorable response” (41:16).
Just like Joseph used God’s strength to share his gifts, children can accept the invitation to rise to the challenge and share their gifts to help others at Snowball Mountain Challenge VBS and beyond!
DAY 2 SNAPSHOT:
Mountain Motto: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Phil. 4:13
Lift Lesson: I can give my all!
Bible Story: The Widow’s Offering (Mark 12:41–44)
Today, children were invited to consider how God’s power can help them share and give. We learned about how Jesus taught others about this through the story of a widow who gave all she had for God. Though the widow’s offering of two copper coins seemed small to observers, Jesus explained that it was actually a very large sacrifice because it was all she had to live on. As they experience this act of giving through Jesus’ words, children will be inspired to draw on God’s strength to give what they have for God’s kingdom.
Just like the widow gave what she had through faithful strength in God, children can accept the invitation to seek God’s strength to give what they have for God’s kingdom throughout their lives.
VBS MISSION PARTNER
Join us in supporting our local mission partner - Active Youth Wisconsin! This year, we’re challenging VBS families to raise money to make sports and active opportunities more accessible to kids in Dane County. Bring donations in throughout the week, and let's see how many ski helmets we can fill up with change!
Active Youth Wisconsin creates accessible opportunities for all kids to be active, play, and grow through programs and events that build physical health, mental wellness, confidence, community, and the benefits of lifelong movement.
