Weekend Food Program
Many of our Middleton children have food and nutrition challenges that go unmet, especially on weekends. The Weekend Food Program was started at St. Luke's to provide food for students who would otherwise go without a meal over the weekend. While some students have free and reduced meals available during the school day, the weekends create a situation where many students go hungry.
The Weekend Food Program has expanded to involve many other area churches and is now able to support the entire Middleton-Cross Plains School district. School officials have repeatedly stressed the significance of this program and how it truly alleviates a significant amount of stress often carried by these young students.
