Daily Inspiration - August 27: Being Carried on Eagle’s Wings

As we continue to struggle with the pandemic, as racial tensions continue to rise, coupled with whatever is most troublesome for you and your family today, let the words of this hymn,

On Eagle’s Wings, be your guide:

“You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in this shadow for life, say to the Lord, ‘My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!’ And he will raise you up on eagle’s wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you, and famine will bring you no fear; under God’s wings you refuge with faithfulness your shield. And he will raise you up on eagle’s wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand.

You need not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day; though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come. And he will raise you up on eagle’s wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand.

For to the angels God’s given a command to guard you in all your ways; upon their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. And he will raise you up on eagle’s wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand.”

Our God is our Rock, our Shield, our Protector, our Defender the one caring for us at all times of our life. So, whatever it is that is heavy for you today, place it in his hands and he indeed will bear you up and hold you in the palm of those hands.

Thank you Lord for carrying me. Amen
