We are a fallen creation. Sinful in our nature requiring of Grace to redeem our shame. We need a Savior and that is exactly what has been offered to us. Through the act of Jesus, pure, undeserved Grace has been given. Grace that washes away the sinful nature of the old and creates a new humanity. A creation of the redeemed, the adopted, the whole. And when the full weight of that gift is realized in the redeemed heart not only is our nature changed but our outlook. We shift from selfish to selfless and we become a new creation drawn to a life of love and service to others.
Dear Lord, help us to recognize the true gift of what you have given us and to move past our own selfish needs in search of others who need our help. Amen
